Melanie Clark Pullen has worked as an actress since her early 20s and most recently featured in the film Ordinary Love starring Liam Neeson and Lesley Manville. She is a co–founder of She Wolf Theatre Collective which was formed with cast members of the four sell out shows of The Vagina Monologues which she produced at the Lyric Theatre and the Black Box in 2018. The proceeds from the first show helped to fund the first Rape Crisis phoneline in Northern Ireland.
She created StrutandBellow.com as a platform to inspire, empower and amplify the voices of women makers and her podcast of the same name has many conversations with women makers of art, theatre, music, small humans and change. She works with business owners to help them build confidence using video in promoting their work through her Camera Confidence workshops.
In 2019, she was diagnosed with Grade 3 Breast Cancer and underwent a year of treatment culminating in a double mastectomy and reconstruction in January of this year. During her treatment, she discovered a love of painting and now sells her watercolours and lino cut prints through her instagram page @booksbytheseaballyholme, which centres around the community library she has on her garden wall.
She’s married to Simon and has three children and a border collie. She swims in Belfast lough year round.
