Dan Rogers

Head of Education at Tangent, Trinity’s Ideas Workspace

Dan Rogers is the Head of Education in Tangent, Trinity’s Ideas Workspace, with over 10 years’ experience in higher education. Dan began his career working for a tech startup where he was responsible for managing multimedia projects destined for print, web and broadcast with clients such as RTE and GSK. 

Dan later took up a position at the National Media College where he developed corporate training programmes in a variety of multimedia software applications. With a desire to remain in academia, Dan completed an SFI funded PhD in Audio–Visual Perception at TCD in 2010 and began developing and teaching undergraduate courses in Creative Digital Media. 

Dan joined the Trinity Innovation Academy in March 2012 where his responsibilities include design and delivery of innovation and entrepreneurship programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate, academic and executive level both nationally and internationally. 

During this time he has acquired significant external funding for Innovation Academy programmes, completed a Masters in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education, and in 2016 was nominated for the Provost’s teaching award. 

He has a broad industry network and particular expertise working with interdisciplinary groups to achieve creative and innovative outcomes using Design Thinking and LEAN methodologies. Dan is also a creative entrepreneur, record label owner and freelance multimedia producer.
